Your Central Saanich Utility Bill
We issue utility bills for water and sewer in January, May and September. A ten-percent discount is granted if you pay your bill by the due date. For billing enquiries, please contact our Finance Department at 250-544-4206. To receive your bill electronically, please visit mycentralsaanich.ca.
How to pay:
Pre-authorized withdrawal enables your financial institution to automatically withdraw the balance of your utility bill from your bank account on the due date. You will still receive a copy of your bill, and even if you are on a trip, your bill will always be paid on time. Just complete the Pre-authorized Payment Plan Agreement application form, attach a voided cheque and drop off or mail the information to us.
Online banking can be set up by logging into your online banking profile and adding "Central Saanich" as a Payee. The exact format may differ at each financial institution.
If you must pay in person, we accept cash, cheque, debit card or credit card at Central Saanich Municipal Hall, located at 1903 Mt. Newton Cross Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.

As a Central Saanich resident, you have access to a free service, BC One Call, that will tell you within three days if, and where, underground facilities are buried on your site.
Sewage, or wastewater, is what leaves our toilets and sinks, and this material travels to the Saanich Peninsula wastewater treatment plant.
Homeowners must maintain the sanitary sewer system to their property line. This includes:
- Servicing
- Clearing
- Rodding
- Removing blockages or tree roots
Tips for keeping your system in good shape:
- Do not pour fats, oils or grease down the drain (they will harden and stick to the sewer pipes and this can create a sewer backup into your home). Running hot water at the same time will not stop these materials from sticking to the sewer pipes.
- Use your kitchen container for food waste, not the garburator. Garburators strain our wastewater system.
- Use a strainer for your sink, tub and shower drains. They keep food, hair and other items from going down the drain and clogging your pipes.
- Put personal hygiene items in the garbage, not the toilet
- Hire a plumber to keep your system working properly
- Check to make sure roof downspouts, foundation drains and groundwater sump pumps connect to the stormwater drainage system, not the sewer system.
- Do not plant trees or shrubs or place any structures over your service connection or any registered easements. Trees and plants like water. Their roots can grow into your service connection pipe through joints or cracks. Talk to us before placing any significant trees or structures on top of your utilities.
The top five ways to save water at home are:
Replace your old bathroom fixtures to more efficient models.
Regularly check your home for leaks.
Replace your old clothes washing machine for a high-efficiency model.
Let your lawn go golden and be water wise outside.
Never run a dishwasher or clothes washer without a full load.
