Central Saanich is a friendly and active community spanning the middle of the Saanich Peninsula and the traditional territory of the Wsanec peoples, including the Tsartlip and Tsawout First Nations. More than 17,000 residents call this beautiful area home. From Island View Beach on the east to the Saanich Inlet on the west, the region includes fantastic parks, beaches and boasts the highest concentration of agricultural production in the region. The schools in our community are part of Saanich School District (SD 63), and offer a variety of quality programs and place an emphasis on social responsibility.
Local celebrations include:
- Brentwood Bay Festival held in early June at Pioneer Park
- Music in the Park held each Wednesday evening in July and August from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Pioneer Park
- Saanich Fair on the Labour Day weekend (the last long weekend of the summer) at the Saanich Fairgrounds
