Community Car Share Program

Central Saanich has partnered with Modo Co-operative to provide shared vehicles for community use.

  • Kia Soul Electric, Municipal Hall, Saanichton (parked at charging station)

  • Hyundai Tuscon, Municipal Hall, Saanichton (parked on Mount Newton Cross Road)

What is carsharing?

It’s an affordable and convenient alternative to owning your own car (or second car). Through Modo's diverse fleet of 800+ vehicles, you gain access to a range of options, from small cars for quick errands to larger vehicles for family outings. Whether you need a car for 15 minutes, an hour or several days, Modo's flexible booking options allow you to get the most out of your carsharing experience. With gas, insurance and maintenance included, you get all the benefits of owning a car, without any of the costs and hassle.

With Modo’s round trip service, cars can be booked up to a year in advance. Vehicles are picked up and dropped off in the same location.

Did you know?

Greenhouse gas emissions from transportation are the #1 source of emissions in our community and most privately owned vehicles sit idle 95% of the time. Car-sharing spreads the use of a few vehicles between a number of drivers and helps to reduce the number of cars on the road.

Residents of Central Saanich get $50 in free drive time with Modo, just for signing up as a new member.

Join online using the promo code CENTRALSAANICH at www.modo.coop and visit the Modo Map to book these cars and see just how many cars are available to Modo members in our region.
